We set up a wide range of microphones during the sampling and editing process to ensure that the piano sound was preserved in its entirety.

After multiple playing and listening sessions, we settled on the following mics: a matched pair of Schoeps CMC6 with MK4 cardiod capsules placed at the player position, a matched pair of Royer 121 placed inside the open-lid.

A matched pair of modded Oktava MK-012 above the strings, and a matched pair of Neumann M149 mics to pick up the sound from a medium distance. These microphones deliver the widest possible gamut of tonal colors, whether used individually or combined.

Our on-board mixer is designed to make it easy for you to get the sound you want with just a few tailored controls. With Volume, Panpot, Mute and Solo, Sereo Width, a simple but highly effective 3-band EQ, and Reverb Send for each pair of mics, you have all the tools you need to craft your sound.

And to top it off, we’ve included a Master 3-band EQ with specifically chosen frequency centers, a Compressor, and a Tape Emulator at the end of the chain.

With 34 main presets, we’ve made it easy for you to achieve professional results without needing a degree in audio-engineering. Select a preset and fine-tune it using a few carefully selected parameters.

Our Reverb section, critical for acoustic pianos, features an in-house developed collection of 101 carefully selected high-quality Impulse Responses from real spaces, vintage and contemporary studio hardware.

We sampled the Model 7 grand piano from a Yamaha C7 grand coda piano that has been in constant use since the 80s in two highly regarded concert halls in Torino (Italy).

Played by renowned artists such as Michel Petrucciani and Chick Corea, this little-big monster of a piano is under constant maintenance by highly-skilled Italian technicians.

We sampled it in a medium-size hall, surrounded by a smorgasbord of microphones, to deliver the ultimate piano sound.
